ming, here are the answers to your questions
1. Vin is power in, MCLR is pin on PIC. Both these pin cannot be connected, else you will spoil the PIC.
2. Vmotor is connected to (+) of AA battery, Vcc is 5V from SK40B
3. The reset of SK40B is used to reset the program. SW1 is to start the line following program.

Ming, I would strongly encourage you to study the program before you hope the robot to move. Maybe you din press the SW1 to activate the line following program? Most of the solutions are in the program.

Lorence, SK40A can be used for RS232 communication with PC. The bootloader is using RS232 to load program. There are several sample source code available in DIY project which have UART function (serial communication), PR6(Receive only), PR8(Receive only), PR16(Receive and Transmit), PR18 and PR23. GOod luck!

It damage may because of several reasons. We might have shorted some pins, over voltage on any pin, pull up a pin directly to 5V and software make it as output and 0V it! and more..... so becareful.... Good luck on next project!

Leonarul, for the time being, there is yet tutorial using PR23 with Bluetooth. But basically, the step and method is similar to SKXBee which is one of the mode in PR23 sample code. Tiny of changes will get your Bluetooth enabled mobile robot on the road. Of course, I encourage you to try the modification yourself as the satisfaction is greater! Good luck and do share it with us on your progress!

cloe, you can actually test the connection creation protocol using 2 PC. Each KC-21 connected to 1 PC, then send AT command to create connection to using HyperTerminal as shown in beginner guide to one of the KC-21. Try to play around with this method first. If you are familiar with command, then only you start to do the embedded stuff. Sending AT command from microcontroller is actually sending character to UART with correct baud rate. There are several ways to send command or in other words - string. For example, PICC Lite might have printf("AT-ZV Connect XXXXXXXXXXX");. So I would advise you to find out how the C program send string to UART. Good luck.

In order to use the bluetooth module, you only need to know the following things:
1. How to use UART.
2. The AT command for the bluetooth module.

To have a quick start on using the bluetooth module, we can connect it to the PC via serial port and communicating with it using Hyper Terminal just like what Ober pointed out.
