This workshop is designed to be beginner friendly even he/she does not have concrete basic on electrical and programming. During the hands-on session, participants are given opportunities to build and program their own PIC circuits to sharpen their programming skill and unleash their creativity. Elementary to intermediate projects such as motor control are introduced.

Description:
This is a program continuing from PIC workshop module I, which will explore deeper about the function and capability of PIC microcontroller. In this course, the hand-on activity will still be emphasized to ensure the participants hone the skills in soldering, programming and troubleshooting. More application projects of PIC will be introduced with the aim that participants are able to develop their own mechatronic projects after attending this course.

  • More function of PIC: timer, PWM, interrupt, analog input.
  • Interactive and hands-on approach in:

ROBOCON Workshop
Description:
The ROBOCON workshop is an intensive program specially designed for students who are participating in ROBOCON. The participants will learn from the basic theory on electronic circuit until the knowledge and skills in controlling an autonomous robot using PIC microcontroller. We are emphasizing hand-on and practical in doing a control circuit and program writing during the workshop. Besides the technical knowledge, previous ROBOCON champion teams’ strategies will be review and analyzed.

  • Introduction to ABU ROBOCON.
  • Introduction of PIC microcontroller.
  • Explore the functions and abilities of PIC microcontroller.
  • Controlling various types of motors and utilizing of sensors.
  • Skills in writing program using assembly or C language.

  • Aid in building an autonomous line following robot.
  • Video review of previous domestic and international level ROBOCON.
  • Motivation and experience sharing from the former champion team member.

PIC Embedded Mobile Robot: Hand-on Workshop
Description:
This course aims to equip participants with the fundamental understanding and skills needed to construct an autonomous mobile robot using PIC microcrontroller. It is designed so that it is perfectly suit to secondary students whom have minimal knowledge in electronic circuit and programming. During the course, participants are guided slowly from the construction of robot’s hardware until the programming of their own mobile robot.

  • Briefing on robotic and automation.
  • Mobile robot introduction
